Why

Machen's New Testament Greek for Beginners has taught Greek for a hundred years. Until now, the free copies online were scans of the 1923 printing: you could look at the pages, but you couldn't search them, copy a sentence or read them on a phone.

This catalog fixes that one book at a time. I take books on theology and the biblical languages that are in the public domain and that, as far as I could find, exist online only as scans. Each one is transcribed, proofread against the scan, marked up and typeset. You can read it here in the browser, with the original page numbers, the scan next to the text and search inside the book. PDF and EPUB downloads are coming.

Everything is free. There are no accounts and no ads.

Who makes it

I'm Tymofii Shustov, an editor and typesetter from Ukraine. I studied theology, and these are books I wanted to read properly myself.

Using the books

The text of each book is in the public domain. My edition (the recognised and checked text, markup, typesetting and the pages I wrote) is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. You may copy it, print it, sell it and adapt it. Please credit "Edition by Tymofii Shustov, library.tshustov.com" and share your adaptation under the same licence.

Found an error?

Select the place in the text and choose "Report an error", or use the button next to any paragraph. Your report goes to a queue that I read myself, and fixes go into the next build of the book. A report is a suggestion: you give it under CC0, so I can use it in any edition without asking you again.
